I'm Aubrie and I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona( for those of you new to the Valley, Mesa is just to the east of Tempe). I went to Mesa High School and lettered all four years in swimming, the highlight of which was being team captain my senior year. I specialized in butterfly, particularly the 100. I also had the pleasure of being the anchor leg of various relays, my favorite of which was the 4 X 100 freestyle relay because the entire team would congregate behind the block and cheer us on while singing our school's fight song. Besides swimming, I also played water polo and was again given the honor of being my team's captain. I loved playing as the two-meter defender because I loved the constant challenge and battle of wills that the position represents.

I entered ASU as a freshman in Fall of 2008. I'm majoring in Speech Pathology, which would allow me to work as a Speech Therapist in either a school or hospital setting. Also, I'm minoring in Spanish which, for me, is proving to be an enjoyable challenge. I really love learning about different languages and cultures, so I thought that majoring in Speech and minoring is Spanish would be a good fit. Thankfully, it is proving to be just what I had hoped for, with each new class being full of interesting concepts and techniques.

I absolutely adore watching UEFA Soccer, which is the European league. I always root for Bayern Munich, but sadly they are members of the German Bundesliga so their games are not televised in the States very often. Therefore, I have also adopted Liverpool F.C. who the networks seem to think are more worthy of their airtime which allows me to cheer them on almost weekly. Currently, I'm looking forward to World Cup 2010 and know that Germany is going pay Spain back for their Euro-Cup loss in the finals in 2008! My best friend, Shelby, is a die-hard Spanish fan so it should be great fun when these two power-house teams collide.

I look forward to reading everyone's blogs!
